CAIRO – 5 April 2024: Egyptian First Lady Entissar El Sisi wished Egyptian orphans a happy life, calling upon society to provide them all means of comfort, security, and compensation

“Every orphan has the right to live a happy life full of hope and care, and it is our role to provide them with all means of comfort, security, and compensation. Let each of us be a family to every orphan, sharing their joy and sorrow and bringing smiles to their faces. Many happy returns,” the First Lady said in her message on Friday.

Orphans Day is a national celebration that Egypt has been marking on the first Friday of April annually since 2004 to raise awareness about orphans and to share happiness with them.

The number of children benefiting from social care institutions totaled around 9,500 boys and girls living in 481 care institutions, the Ministry of Social Solidarity said in 2022.
