41 wounded Palestinian, 88 aid trucks crossed Rafah border, Monday

CAIRO – 1 April 2024:  The Rafah crossing border between Egypt and Palestine witnessed, Monday the entry of number of trucks from the Egyptian side into the Gaza Strip transporting aid, relief materials, and various humanitarian goods.

Serval wounded and injured people also crossed from the Gaza Strip for treatment in Egyptian hospitals, according to the official announced data.

Up to 41 wounded and injured people and their companions have crossed on Monday, along with 88 Egyptians residing in Gaza, 300 travelers, a number of foreign residency holders, and 70 students.

Also, nearly 88 trucks were recorded to cross the orders carrying food, medicines and various supplies.

Planes carrying aid to Gaza also continued to land at Al-Arish Airport, and a statement monitoring the movement of receiving aid planes at Al-Arish Airport stated that the number of planes that arrived at Al-Arish Airport from last October 12 until today reached 720 planes, including 585 planes that transported aid from several Arab and foreign countries and regional and international organizations.

Other 135 planes transported official delegations and important figures from all countries of the world also landed at Al-Arish Airport.

On Sunday, a source in North Sinai stated that Rafah Border Crossing with Gaza Strip would receive Sunday 452 travelers, including 41 injured and their companions.

That is in addition to 300 Palestinians who have residency permits in Egypt and a number of Arab and non-Arab countries as well as 70 students in tertiary education.

Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare Ahmed al-Sobky stated Sunday that over 35 percent of surgeries needed by the Palestinian injured who had been transferred to Egyptian hospitals were carried out.

The official noted that 52 percent of the patients were children aged below 18, and that 49 percent were females. He also added that the success rate of those surgeries was 100 percent.

A source in North Sinai stated that over 5,000 injured Palestinians were receiving treatment in Egypt as they had been distributed among 85 hospitals, and that they were accompanied by around 6,000 family members.
