CAIRO - 30 March 2024: French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné announced on his X platform that he will discuss the crisis of the Middle East and the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the release of Israeli captives, and the coordination of humanitarian efforts in the region with his Egyptian and Jordanian counterparts, Sameh Shoukry and Ayman Safadi, respectively, in Cairo.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced in a statement that Shoukry will meet with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his French counterpart, Stéphane Séjourné, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the new administrative capital. Subsequently, a tripartite joint press conference will be held.

In February, the Egyptian Foreign Minister and his Jordanian counterpart  have warned of the extremely negative consequences of any Israeli ground offensive in the Palestinian city of Rafah, as it will further exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The warning came during a meeting between the two top diplomats in Geneva on Monday, as they discussed the latest developments of the Israeli war on the Palestinian enclave, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid.
