CAIRO – 10 March 2024: The Ministry of Social Solidarity launched an initiative to increase the amount of micro loans disbursed to women by Nasser Social Bank (NSB) by promoting the product through female social leaders.
The bank offers the Mastoura Funding Programme. Until present, the number of customers has reached 27,000 women, who received financing whose total value amounts to LE560 million. The value of loans varies between LE10,000 and LE 10 million. Each is paid back over 1-5 years in monthly installments.
The ministry declared that female social leaders would begin promoting microfinance opportunities among women in seven governorates as a first phase. Those are Daqahliyah, Qalyoubiyah, Beni Suef, Beheira, Menoufeya, Gharbia, and Fayoum.
