CAIRO – 19 February 2024: Data issued by Rafah Border Crossing indicated that Egypt is receiving Monday 42 injured Palestinians and 35 companions as well as 301 dual nationals who will be transiting in the country on their way back, in addition to 122 Palestinian-Egyptians.

Records showed that, on Sunday, 44 injured and 28 companions crossed. That is in addition to 13 foreigners, 150 Palestinian-Egyptians, and 250 people holding residency permits.

Also, 120 trucks of aid and medical materials entered the Emirati Hospital, as well as 5 fuel trucks.

The Egyptian government is establishing a logistical area in Sinai’s Rafah, where humanitarian aid can be stored and preserved in preparation for its delivery to the Gaza Strip, announced Major General Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai, in media remarks on Friday.

The governor added that the area would be set up for preserving humanitarian aid like food and other supplies so they would not be damaged by weather conditions.

The under-construction area will include parking areas for trucks, secured warehouses, administrative offices, and rest places for drivers, the governor said, noting that it has been provided with all means of living and electricity to achieve fluidity in transportation to and from it.

The governor said that the establishment of the logistic area in Rafah aims to reduce the burden on drivers and reduce the crowding in Al-Arish and on the roads, in addition to facilitating the work of the Egyptian Red Crescent in delivering aid to Gazans.
