CAIRO – 18 February 2024: The government is preparing to issue the executive regulations for the Building Violation Reconciliation Law, Minister of Justice Omar Marwan said on Sunday in a meeting.

He added that Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli gave directives to provide more facilities regarding procedures and steps to complete reconciliation processes, as well as taking the necessary measures that would contribute to eliminating any attempts to violate again.

The Minister’s comment came during the Board of Governor’ meeting, which was chaired by Madbouli and attended by Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade; Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development; Al-Sayyid Al-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation; and Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development.

In November 2023, the Egyptian parliament approved the new law on legalizing multiple cases of building violations that do not abuse structural integrity standards.

The new law widens the scope for the state’s reconciliation with citizens responsible for building violations, including the possibility to reconcile with buildings that exceed the height specified by the Civil Aviation Authority.
