CAIRO – 31 January 2024: The Rafah border crossing has received 29 injured Palestinians and patients from the Gaza Strip with 57 companions over the past hours to receive treatment in Egypt.

The Palestinian individuals were transferred via ambulances to the Egyptian hospitals in Arish, Sheikh Zuweid, Port Said, Ismailia, and Suez.

Egypt has continued receiving injured Palestinians as well as foreign passport holders over the past three months, amid the ongoing Israeli attacks against the strip.

Trucks have also been delivering aid to the strip despite “deliberate obstacles” imposed by the Israeli side, according to Egyptian officials.

Egypt has received a total of 528 aircraft and 34 ships carrying humanitarian aid from dozens of countries and organizations until January 19, as reported by the ERC. In total, 111,490 tons of aid have been delivered to Gaza through 7,179 trucks.

The Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed 26,900 people and injured 65,949 others over the past 117 days, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. During the past 24 hours, the Israeli assaults killed 150 people and injured 313 others.

According to the United Nations’ figures, the assaults also displaced around 85 percent of Gaza’s 2.3 million population.
