Beheira gov't witnesses intensive efforts under multiple national health inititives

CAIRO - 13 January 2024: Beheira Governorate has witnessed intense efforts during the last period to raise the level of health services provided to citizens.
 
This comes through the state’s plan to develop government hospitals and medical centers in all cities and centers of the governorate. These efforts also come in accordance with the presidential medical initiatives launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as urgent solutions to serve the people. 
 
The Beheira governorate has a population of about 7 million people.
 
The system of presidential initiatives in the medical sector includes confronting incurable diseases, tumors, Hepatitis C, and many diseases that have ravaged the bodies of the Egyptian people for many decades.
 
Presidential initiatives were not limited to treating chronic diseases only, but they went beyond that by early detection and early examination of cases to confront diseases at the source and limit their escalation.
 
 
Initiative to eliminate Hep. C
 
 
Among the most famous presidential medical initiatives is the initiative to eliminate Hepatitis C and early detection of non-communicable diseases, which benefited 3 million and 580 thousand people in Beheira centers who had long suffered from the effects of hepatitis viruses.
 
The initiative for early detection of chronic diseases and kidney disease is one of the important presidential initiatives, during which 274,000 targeted citizens in Beheira Governorate were examined.
 
Initiative to support Egyptian women's health
 
Beheira Governorate witnessed the launch of an initiative to support Egyptian women’s health, which includes early detection of breast cancer, evaluation, and treatment through oncology treatment centers, including the Damanhour Oncology Center, as well as early detection of diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity.
 
The total number of women who have undergone examinations since the launch of the initiative has reached 2 million and 711 thousand women within the governorate, and 54,724 have been referred to receive evaluation and treatment in various units and hospitals in the governorate.
 
Initiative for newly-weds
 
The presidential initiative was recently launched to examine and care for those about to get married in Beheira Governorate, which targets all citizens about to get married with the aim of examining and ensuring their safety and providing them with the necessary medical care.
 
The initiative provides several services, including “a comprehensive medical examination - laboratory examination - determining the type - determining the rhesus factor - determining the hemoglobin level.”
 
The initiative aims to discover some non-communicable diseases, including hypertension, diabetes, and obesity, as well as discovering a number of viral diseases, including “hepatitis B virus, HBV, hepatitis C virus, HIV, the human immunodeficiency virus that causes AIDS syndrome, Mediterranean anemia, and sickle cell anemia.”
 
The initiative also includes conducting a psychological questionnaire that measures the ability to perform normal functions and new phenomena that affect the psychological state, along with providing a counseling service to prevent non-communicable diseases and reduce sexually transmitted diseases and diseases transmitted from mother to fetus.
 
The initiative's programs include "supporting Egyptian women's health," screening for chronic diseases, early detection of kidney disease, early detection and treatment of cancerous tumors, detection and treatment of hearing loss among children, and care for maternal and fetal health, in addition to 16 places at the governorate level to provide screening services for those about to get married.
 
Telemedicine consultation initiative
 
The telemedicine consultation initiative, or the “Telemedicine” service, is one of the most important presidential initiatives in the medical sector, which aims to provide advanced, high-quality medical services in remote areas through 8 medical centers in Itay al-Baroud, Kafr al-Dawwar, Rashid, Fever, Damanhour, Abu Homs, Rahmaniyah, Sadr Damanhour, and Noubaria hospitals, with the participation of Professors of medicine and consultants in various medical specialties in Egyptian universities by linking the unit doctor with the consulting doctor to accurately describe the case.
 
The presidential initiative to end waiting lists for surgical operations is considered one of the most vital and urgent initiatives that affect the lives of citizens, and the number of beneficiaries from it reached more than 56 thousand people who underwent surgical operations.
 
For her part, Dr. Nihal Balbaa, Deputy Governor of Beheira, confirmed that there is an integrated plan to implement all presidential initiatives in the governorate, adding that the presidential initiatives were implemented with unprecedented success and benefited all citizens, especially those in remote and needy areas.
 
Meanwhile, Dr. Hani Jumaa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Beheira, confirmed the intensification of efforts to raise the level of medical services and implement all presidential initiatives, which constitute a qualitative leap for the health of the people of Beheira, adding that medical supplies and medicines have been provided in sufficient quantities to implement presidential initiatives, as well as providing the necessary manpower for all urgent medical initiatives.
