Egypt’s transportation ministry start implementing new Metro ticket prices

CAIRO – 1 January 2024: Egypt’s Ministry of Transportation announced Monday the implementation of new metro ticket prices on all metro lines, coinciding with the start of pilot operation for the second part of the third phase on the third metro line.

And the news prices came as following:

One area, 9 stations for 6 LE.

Two zones, 16 stations, 8 LE.

Three zones, 23 stations, 12 LE.

Four zones, more than 23 stations, 15 LE.

Four zones, more than 23 stations for people with disabilities, for 50 piasters.

 

Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir has announced that the pilot operation of the second part of the third phase of the third metro line will start on Monday.

The new phase features the opening of six new stations: Sudan, Imbaba, Bouhy, Qawmiya Arabiya, Ring Road, and Rod El Farag Axis.

The move comes in order to serve the citizens and students in the areas, which are characterized by a high population density.
