Egypt proposes framework for ceasefire in Gaza Strip: SIS chairman

CAIRO – 28 December 2023: Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS) Diaa Rashwan stated Thursday that Egypt had proposed a framework to end the aggression on Gaza Strip and reinstate regional peace and stability.

Rashwan noted that the framework was articulated after listening to the viewpoints of all concerned parties, and consists of three phases that should lead to a ceasefire. He equally highlighted that any matter pertaining to the Palestinian government is a pure Palestinian affair.

The SIS chairman clarified that Egypt had not received any response to the proposed framework from any of the parties, and that once a response is received, a detailed framework will be articulated and declared to the Egyptian, Arab, and global public opinion.
