CAIRO – 19 November 2023: The number of Egyptian volunteers working with the Decent Life Foundation and the National Coalition for Civil Work, and who are taking part in the preparation of aid shipments to Gaza amounted to 6,700 individuals.

The Decent Life Foundation had launched an initiative called "From A Human Being to A Human Being" that is aimed at supporting Palestinians by preparing humanitarian aid.

The first phase of the initiative is based on the participation of children in preparing the shipment under the slogan "From A Child to A Child." The goal is raising the awareness of children on the importance of the Palestinian Cause and Egypt's leading role in supporting it throughout history.

The foundation received students daily from public, language, and international schools who both take part in preparations alongside adult volunteers, and attend lectures, on the Palestinian Cause and the foundation's mission, tailored for various age groups. It is noted that a number of students also made donations.

The Egyptian Doctors Syndicate opened on October 21 the registration for physicians who wish to volunteer at Gaza hospitals. The head of the syndicate, Osama Abdel Hay, told press that 2,000 members had volunteered and that they received training with the Egyptian Red Crescent.

Abdel Hay elaborated that the syndicate communicated with the Palestinian side, and learnt that the specializations needed are those of surgery, orthopedics, anesthesiology, cardiology, and neurology.

Chief of the Egyptian Red Crescent Ramy al-Nazer told press Thursday that the total number of aid trucks that entered Gaza Strip, through Rafah Border Crossing, since the beginning of the crisis had amounted to 1,090 carrying a total of 18,800 tons. The shipments included food, water, medicines, medical supplies, and various equipment.

The contributions of Egypt and the United Nations are 10,000 tons and 6,200 tons, respectively. The latter managed to deliver, through Egypt, the first shipment of fuel on Wednesday. Since then, 150,000 liters have been delivered.
