Egyptian FM demands intl. organizations to ramp up humanitarian response to Sudan's civil war

CAIRO – 15 November 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry participated Wednesday in a meeting of the African Council for Peace and Security on Sudan delivering a speech that asserts Egypt's priorities in the civil war in the country.

Those include a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire; securing the delivery of humanitarian aid; and, preserving the unity, sovereignty, and state institutions. That is in addition to the necessity of a real Sudanese political solution.

The minister demanded international organizations to ramp up humanitarian response and support neighboring states to continue receiving and serving displaced Sudanese citizens.
