CAIRO – 14 November 2023: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Tuesday the international community must assume its responsibility toward suspending the violent practices against Palestinians in Gaza.

During a phone call with Monica Juma, the National Security Advisor to the Kenyan President, Shoukry, said that civilians in Gaza must not be the target of collective punishment.

He added that the international community should urge Israel to abide by the rules of international and humanitarian law.

During the phone conversation, the two sides exchange viewpoints toward ways to contain the critical humanitarian and security conditions in the Gaza Strip, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.

They also agreed on the need to attain an immediate ceasefire and compel Israel to put an end to all the practices, which run counter to the rules of the international law, including the forced displacement of the Palestinians, added the spokesman
