Egypt’s Military says Taba, Nuweiba drones were coming from south of Red Sea to North

CAIRO – 27 October 2023: Egypt’s Military Spokesperson says investigations on the two drones crashed on Taba and Nuweiba on Friday were coming from south of Red Sea to North.

The outcome of the investigations revealed that one drone was targeted outside Egyptian airspace in Gulf of Aqaba, resulting in debris falling in uninhabited area in Nuweiba and second one fell in Taba, an Egyptian military spokesperson said in a statement on Friday.

"The Air Force and Air Defense Forces are intensifying the work of securing Egyptian airspace on all strategic directions of the country," the statement added.

On Friday Morning, The Spokesman for the Armed Forces has said that an unidentified drone fell near a building close to Taba Hospital in South Sinai.

In a statement on Friday morning, the spokesman said that six persons sustained slight injuries and were discharged from hospital after receiving the necessary treatment.

He added that the incident is under investigation by a specialized committee of bodies concerned.
