CAIRO - 13 October 2023: El-Arish Airport in northern Sinai received a relief aid truck, Friday, coming from Turkey for the benefit of the people of the Gaza Strip. Representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent received the shipment after unloading it from the plane. The aid was loaded and stored in preparation for its delivery to Gaza.

Dr. Khaled Zaid, the head of the Egyptian Red Crescent branch in northern Sinai, stated that this is the second shipment of aid to arrive at El-Arish Airport for the people of Gaza. The first humanitarian aid shipment from Jordan to El-Arish Airport arrived yesterday, Thursday, in preparation for its delivery to the people of Gaza.

Khaled Zaid added that Egypt is one of the first countries to send humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. On the third day of the aggression on Gaza and before travel was disrupted, Egypt sent two tons of Egyptian humanitarian and medical aid to the Palestinian Red Crescent through the Egyptian Red Crescent.

He also mentioned that the Egyptian Red Crescent's youth volunteers continue their work around the clock to transport international aid after receiving it.

The arrival of Turkish relief aid at El-Arish Airport is a significant development in the ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the people of Gaza. This aid aims to provide much-needed relief to those affected by recent conflicts and challenges in the region.

Egypt has been actively involved in providing humanitarian assistance to Gaza, showcasing its commitment to supporting its neighbors in times of crisis. The Egyptian Red Crescent has played a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating the delivery of aid to Gaza, demonstrating the importance of international solidarity.

The international community's efforts to deliver aid to Gaza reflect the collective responsibility to address humanitarian needs and alleviate the suffering of civilians in conflict-affected areas.
