Egypt adopts promotional events, campaigns to stimulate tourism

CAIRO - 10 October 2023: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa, chaired the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
 
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the most prominent developments currently witnessed by the tourism industry in Egypt, as well as some of the procedures, promotion and activation plans that the Ministry is pursuing during the coming period.
 
The Minister also spoke about the Ministry’s keenness to raise the degree of governance and efficiency of public spending on promotion, activation and stimulation items and activities in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of the tourism industry in Egypt.
 
He further pointed to the three committees that were recently formed to contribute to achieving this, which are the “Internal Audit and Governance” committees in full from the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion; the Tourism and Antiquities Support Fund, and the special committee to discuss the general strategy for revitalizing and stimulating tourism in Egypt.
 
During the meeting, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
 
Some proposals were also presented and discussed that the authority is scheduled to implement during the coming period to promote tourism for Egyptian tourist destinations, including:
 
- implementing some joint promotional campaigns in the targeted tourism markets with international professional partners such as tour operators and airlines.
 
- organizing a number of hosting and introductory visits to Egypt.
 
- launching a group of advertising campaigns in a number of markets.
 
- the Authority’s participation in a number of international tourism exhibitions during the coming months.
 
The proposal for the Authority’s participation in organizing a series of various internal activities and events in cooperation with a number of embassies of countries around the world during the coming period was also discussed.
 
This comes in light of the Authority’s promotional strategy, which contributes to creating more media and promotional momentum about the Egyptian tourist destination in these countries, which will be in Its beginning was the launch of one of the operatic singing performances by the Italian Opera House in Naples, Teatro San Carlo, which is one of the oldest operatic singing theaters in the world, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Cairo, in front of the Pyramids of Giza on October 11, the first time the troupe presented its performances in Egypt and the first tour. international since the coronavirus pandemic.
