CAIRO - 10 October 2023: UNRWA said that the distribution of aid to about half a million people in Gaza has been suspended, according to a breaking news broadcast by Cairo News Channel.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry made contact with the Commissioner-General of UNRWA to discuss coordinating efforts aimed at ensuring the regularity of services and humanitarian aid provided to the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, high-level Egyptian sources warned, in statements to Cairo News, against pushing defenseless Palestinians towards the Egyptian border.
The sources told Cairo News that Egypt has not hesitated since the deterioration of the situation in the occupied territories, and has intensified its contacts with all active parties of the international community to stop the escalation and spare the blood of the Palestinian people.
The sources confirmed that Cairo's vision was far-reaching when it warned everyone of the seriousness of the situation and its repercussions on the principles of the Palestinian cause.
