Differently-abled persons can now enjoy swimming and all beach related activities at Damietta's first beach designed for them.
CAIRO - 4 October 2023: Engineer Mohamed Khalaf Allah, head of the New Damietta City Development Authority, confirmed that the city authority attaches utmost importance to people of determination [differently abled persons], and thus created a beach for them to enjoy called "Abled.
The beach was implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, represented by the New Damietta City Authority.
Engineer Muhammad Khalaf Allah explained that "Abled" Beach is the first integrated beach at the highest level in the Arab Republic of Egypt in general and Damietta in particular to serve people of determination and their families free of charge, pointing out that the beach has an area of (11) thousand square meters.
The head of the New Damietta Authority indicated that the project consists of a fresh water swimming pool with a theater attached, 3 lanes to enjoy the sea water for people with disabilities who have (auditory and visual disabilities - motor disabilities - mental disabilities), in addition to an open celebration hall, beach playgrounds, restrooms, Mosque, medical care, pergolas, cafeteria, beach services, children’s amusement park, administrative and service offices, to serve people of determination from the hour of arrival until the hour of departure.
