CAIRO – 7 September 2023: Egypt’s Prime Minister Mosutafa Madbouli on Thursday asserted the state's keenness on catering to the demands of Egyptian expatriates and providing incentives for them in order to foster their bonds with the motherland.

This came during the premier's meeting with Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs Soha Gendi to probe progress achieved in the facilitation packages and incentives offered to Egyptians living abroad.

Minister Gendi reviewed the implementation rate of a set of initiatives launched by the emigration ministry upon directives of the political leadership with regard to offering facilitation to Egyptians living abroad; including settling the military service status of expats, maintaining insurance and pension services alongside easing the process of acquiring certified documents.

The meeting highlighted progress achieved regarding incentives targeting Egyptian expatriates, including allowing vehicle importation, setting up an investment company for expats as well as efforts meant to remove hindrances facing nationals living abroad.

Meanwhile, the minister reviewed a set of proposals comprising fresh incentives and facilitation programs meeting the demands of Egyptian expatriates. The premier gave instructions for swiftly submitting such proposals to the cabinet.
