Baghdad in talks with Cairo for implementing construction projects in Iraq by Egyptian companies

CAIRO – 17 August 2023: Egyptian construction companies will build a number of projects in 15 new residential cities in Iraq, announced Iraqi Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works Benkin Rikani.

 

 

In comments to Al Ghad Press, Iraqi Ministry Spokesperson Nabil Al Saffar revealed that his country is cooperating with Egypt to allow Egyptian companies to implement construction projects for 15 new residential cities in Iraq.

 

 

On August 13, Minister of Housing and Urban Communities Asim El-Gazzar met on with Rikani to discuss ways to consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries.

 

 

The housing minister confirmed Egypt’s serious desire to implement projects with the same quality in which they are implemented in Egypt, in addition to the importance of cooperation in technical aspects and exchange of experience.

 

 

Assem Al-Gazzar was accompanied by the Egyptian ambassador to Iraq and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Contractors Company.

 

 

For his part, Minister Benkin Rikani stated that the meeting discussed ways to consolidate bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and to involve Egyptian companies more widely in implementing the ministry's projects.
