Egypt’s FM Shoukry conveys message from President Sisi to Tunisia's Kais Saied

CAIRO – 8 August 2023: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Tuesday conveyed a message and greetings from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to his Tunisian counterpart Kais Saied.

During a meeting he had with the Tunisian leader, Shoukry lauded the continued progress witnessed by bilateral relations in recent years as well as the historic visit paid by Saied to Cairo in April 2021, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

The foreign minister reiterated Egypt and President Sisi’s support for the efforts exerted by President Saied and the Tunisian state with a view to building a better future for the brotherly Tunisian people as well as achieving stability and development in the country.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian leader asserted the convergence of positions by the two countries’ leaderships towards regional issues and global challenges.

He also praised the support offered to Tunisia from Egypt to combat all the challenges it is going through.

The meeting touched on a number of regional issues of common interest, foremost of which are the situations in Sudan and Libya, the Palestinian issue and the illegal migration file.
