CAIRO – 7 August 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry is heading Monday to Tunisia to meet Tunisian President Qais Said as he will deliver a verbal message from President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on bolstering bilateral ties, as indicated by the ministry's spokesperson.

Minister Shokry will be departing from the Chadian capital where he took part in the Sudan Neighboring States Ministerial Mechanism Meetings. The main purpose of the visit is participating in the 15th session of the Egyptian-Tunisian Political Consultation Committee, as the minister will discuss with his counterpart Nabil Ammar bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international affairs of joint interest.

In 2022, 11 cooperation agreements and MoUs were signed during the Egyptian-Tunisian Supreme Committee that was chaired by the prime ministers of both countries. On the heads-of-state level, President Said paid Egypt an official visit in 2021.
