Egyptian Cabinet denies closing Giza Pyramids complex for two months

CAIRO – 4 August 2023: The Egyptian Cabinet’s media center has denied reports about the closure of the Giza Pyramids plateau for two months for development.

In a statement on Friday, the center said it contacted the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. which dismissed the news as baseless.

The ministry stressed that the Pyramids area is open for Egyptian and foreign tourists, noting that the archaeological area and the visitors center to upgrade the efficiency of the services offered.

The center called on media and social media users to verify the authenticity of the news circulated from official sources to avoid perplexing the public opinion.
