Egypt's govt denies news about charging receivers of phone calls

CAIRO - 25 July 2023: The Cabinet’s media center has denied news about charging receivers of phone calls 10 piasters per minute as of August.

The Center had contacted the Ministry of Communications to verify the information. The Ministry dismissed as baseless any such news, the Center said Tuesday. Only callers get charged, the Ministry stressed.

The Center urged all media outlets to verify any news from reliable sources before circulating it on the social media sites so as not to confuse public opinion.
