CAIRO - 3 July 2023: Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), confirmed that Egypt has added 28 new locomotives to the Suez Canal fleet, as part of a future plan to develop the maritime fleet.
 
He went on saying that the canal has become an integrated service of maintenance, repair and good management.
 
Floating dock "Fakhr El Canal" successfully arrived in Egypt’s the Port Said naval arsenal after passing through the Suez Canal on a journey coming from the South Korean arsenal SANG SANGIN, announced Suez Canal Authority CSCA) Chief Admiral Osama Rabie in a statement.
 
The head of the Suez Canal Authority added that the floating dock has a capacity of 35,000 tons and represents a quantum leap for Port Said's arsenal, and helps diversify the canal's sources of income.
 
Osama Rabie added that the Suez Canal has a ship repair and construction service with the highest level of efficiency and experience, pointing out that the floating marine dock is a quantum leap for the Port Said arsenal and raising rescue capabilities.
 
He announced the transit of the world's newest container ship on its first sea voyage through the Suez Canal, and that all oil ships with the flag pass through the Suez Canal, stressing an increase in the rate of transit of oil containers by 17%.
