Chinese amb. to Egypt: 'EgyptSat2' project exemplary achievement between Egypt, China

CAIRO - 25 June 2023:  EgyptSat2 project is considered a new exemplary achievement between China and Egypt, affirmed Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang.

Egypt will be the first African country to own the full potential to assemble and test satellites, he added in a speech delivered on Sunday in a ceremony of handing over a grant offered from the Chinese government to the Egyptian government.

Such cooperation contributes to building Egypt's capability in space technology and entrenching a main milestone to enhancing Egypt's capability in the space sphere, he added.

The visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinping to Egypt in January 2016 witnessed the signing of an agreement, regarding the grant offered from the Chinese government to the Egyptian government, he further said.

Beijing attaches special importance to enhancing the space industry, he affirmed.

The Chinese ambassador also said that Egypt has included the enhancement of the space industry in its national strategy, adding that it has made remarkable progress in the space sphere.
