Egypt’s Attorney-General arrives in France to reclaim two smuggled artifacts

CAIRO – 11 June 2023: Egyptian Attorney-General Hamada El-Sawy arrived in Paris on Sunday, at the head of a high-level delegation of members of the Egyptian Public Prosecutor’s Office.

His official visit comes in support of the bilateral judicial cooperation file between the two countries, according to a statement from the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

He will attend a ceremony at the Egyptian embassy in Paris for receiving two Egyptian artifacts that the French court ruled to give back to Egypt - after it was proven that the two artifacts were looted and smuggled.

Last month, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry was handed over four rare Egyptian artifacts that were recovered from Italian authorities, announced the Ministry in a statement.
