CAIRO – 8 May 2023:  Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced on Monday the provision of free medical and treatment services to up to 141,327 citizens, through 131 medical convoys, during April.

The launch of these convoys comes as part of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's initiative, ‘Haya Karima’ or ‘Decent Life’, to provide free medical services to citizens in all governorates.

Official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, stated that 23,889 laboratory analyzes and x-rays were conducted, pointing out that 1,279 cases were transferred to hospitals to obtain decisions from specialized medical councils, and to perform the necessary surgeries at the expense of the state.

Abdul Ghaffar stressed the Ministry's keenness to continue organizing medical convoys in all governorates, taking into account compliance with all precautionary and preventive measures for the Corona virus while providing medical service to citizens.
