CAIRO – 31 December 2022: MV Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating library, will dock at Port Said Port for 20 days starting 4 January, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) said in a statement on Saturday.

The ship, which is a one-of-its kind ship which sails around the world as a floating library and bookstore, will visit the Egyptian northern port after 12 years of its earlier visit to the country.

The ship will then head to Aqaba Port in Jordan on 23 January.

The SCZONE is finalizing all the necessary preparations for holding such a mega cultural event.

Security presence will be intensified to facilitate the movement of 350 passengers, who will pay a brief visit to Egypt to enjoy the country's tourist attractions.

The ship, measuring 132 meter-long, contains over 50,000, will open to the public daily except Sunday. Children who are less than 13 years and the differently-abled people can visit the ship for free from 10:00 AM and until 10:00 PM.

The ship is operated by about 400 unpaid volunteers from more than 60 different nationalities, where the staff strive to bring knowledge, help and hope to the people of the world.

The visit of the ship comes in coincidence with Egypt’s annual bookfair that is held in January. Last January, the bookfair received more than 2 million visitors.
