Sayed El Badawi settles LE 20M debt to Media Production City

CAIRO 16 July 2017: Sayed El Badawi, head of the Board of Directors of Al-Hayah Egyptian Television, settled accrued debts amounting to LE 20 million to the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC) in full.

Live broadcasting of the privately-owned Hayat TV channels was halted due to the accumulated debts due since last April. The EMPC said earlier in a statement that it stopped the broadcasting of the privately-owned, local Al-Hayat TV network channels.

The EMPC added in thestatement that it stopped all services for Al-Hayat TV channels, including electricity and live broadcasting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday as an initial procedure before invalidating the contract between the EMPC and the network due to the accrued unsettled debts.
