Iraqi VP: Our forces will not take part in battles outside homeland

BAGHDAD - 16 July 2017: Iraqi Vice President Osama al Nujaifi said the Iraqi forces will not take part in any battle outside their homeland.

The statements came in response to statements linked to Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran Rajih Sabir Aboudi al Mousavi on Iraqi forces' preparedness to fight Daesh in Syria.

In statements to Al Arabiya Al Hadath on Sunday, Nujaifi said the Iraqi forces' involvement in battles in Syria will be a source of trouble.

Iraqi Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Jamal has said that the Iranian media took Mousavi's statements out of context.
