CAIRO - 24 April 2022: The Cabinet’s media center has, in a report released Sunday, underscored state efforts to develop Sinai.

A comprehensive plan has been outlined with the aim to achieve development on the peninsula, the report said, pointing to huge national projects in the different fields.

The report particularly touched upon ventures to connect Egypt’s eastern gate with the Delta region with the aim to make Sinai, together with the Canal cities, a natural extension of the Nile Valley.

Worth more than 700 billion pounds, the comprehensive plan is meant to implement development projects on the Sinai Peninsula and Canal cities over eight years, the report made it clear.

Egypt is seeking to attract residents to move to the Sinai Peninsula, by carrying out development projects and providing job opportunities, to boost the national economy and maintain national security.
