Al Azhar condemns terrorist attack on Afghanistan's mosque

CAIRO – 22 April 2022:  Egypt's top Islamic authority, Al-Azhar, condemned the heinous terrorist attack on a mosque in Mazar el Sharif city in northern Afghanistan, leaving scores of people dead and injured.

In a statement released on Friday, Al Azhar expressed its sincere condolences to the victims' families and the Afghan people, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.

On Thursday, Egypt condemned three terrorist attacks in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul that resulted in the loss of lives while injuring several innocent people.

In a press release, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry offered its condolences to the victims and families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Egypt reiterated the importance of uniting efforts to combat all sorts of terrorism, violence and extremism.

More than 20 people including students have been killed and 11 others wounded after three blasts targeted a boys' school in the Afghan capital’s Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood.
