CAIRO - 12 July 2017: Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Atti held a meeting with his Tanzanian counterpart Gerson Lwenge where they discussed mechanisms of boosting joint cooperation.

The two sides probed also benefiting from the Egyptian expertise in the field of water resources management and the participation of the two countries in the activities of the African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW) slated for August in Nigeria's Abuja.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Irrigation Ministry said that the meeting took up the Egyptian-Tanzanian participation in the World Water Week scheduled for August in the Swedish capital Stockholm to review African vision to overcome water-related problems.

The meeting was followed by a visit to drinking water station which provides Dar es Salaam with 70 percent of its needs of potable water.

At the end of the visit, the Tanzanian minister expressed his appreciation for Abdel Atti's visit which reflected cooperation between the two nations
