Egypt reports 1,093 new infections, 25 deaths: Health Ministry

CAIRO - 7 March 2022: The Health Ministry said Sunday night that 1,093 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country began to 490,969.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said 23 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 24,197.

As many as 1,321 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 421,215 so far, the spokesman said.
