CAIRO – 18 February 2022: Egypt will hand 500,000 coronavirus vaccine doses to the Palestinian Authority on Sunday in the presence of Egyptian Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and the Palestinian and Chinese ambassadors.

So far, the State of Palestine has reported 565,656 coronavirus infections and over 5,000 related deaths.

In Egypt, a total of 863,384 people has received booster shots, the Ministry of Health said, as Egypt started administering a third coronavirus vaccine shot in December.

As many as 29,369,394 people were fully vaccinated so far in Egypt, the ministry said, adding that 38,910,066 people received their first coronavirus vaccine shot.

Egypt has received more than 130 million coronavirus vaccine shots since the start of the pandemic and is manufacturing the Chinese Sinovac vaccine locally in VACSERA’s factories.
