CAIRO- 28 January 2022: Egypt aims to vaccinate 70 percent of people by mid-2022, said Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.
 
In a telephone call to DMC channel, Abdel Ghaffar said that the vaccination and precautionary measures helped reduce admissions to hospitals, adding that so far 42 percent of the people have been vaccinated.
 
The spokesperson said that a new injection medicine would be used to treat those who are with immunodeficiency and the elderly at the beginning of infection. He added that the medicine will be taken in the hospital under medical supervision.
 
Commenting on the the COVID-19 antiviral oral pill Molnupiravir, the said that this medicine will arrive in Egypt on January 29, and the reason for its delay is bad weather.
