CAIRO - 11 July 2017: The victory achieved over Daesh terrorist group in Mosul is not only for Iraqis, but for the Arabs and the whole world as well, Iraqi Ambassador to Egypt Habib al-Sadr said on Tuesday.

The Iraqi armed forces have successfully liberated Mosul with no heavy losses among civilians, Sadr told Extra News channel.

There are only very few regions left in Iraq that are still controlled by terrorist groups and they will be easily freed, he added.

However, the Iraqi diplomat warned that Daesh terrorists may re-gather in other regions. In this regard, he urged the Arab countries to establish the highest level of security and intelligence cooperation in order to prevent these terrorists from carrying out further terror acts.

Meanwhile, Sadr said Baghdad stands by Cairo in its efforts to combat terrorism, noting that the Egyptian army has inflicted huge losses on the terrorists.
