In an interview over the phone with Alhayah al-Youm TV show aired on Alhayah TV Channel, the minister said preparations are in full swing for the event.

Fouad said her ministry is assiduously following up on the implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to improve waste management of oil and gas industries in the Gulf of Suez.

She added that she embarked on a tour of Alexandria and Behira governorates to ensure addressing violations made by a number of facilities dumping industrial wastes in Abou Qeir Bay.

The minister said a waste transfer station will be set up to receive 550 tons of waste per-day from Kafr el-Dawar, in northern Egypt, and its affiliated villages, with a view to reducing waste pile up, ahead of the being recycled.

The waste disposal facility is meant to secure a safe drop off and recycling process, as well as limit gaseous emissions causing global warming, she added.

According to the minister, the World Youth Forum, to open in Sharm el-Sheikh on January 10 will organize a session on climate change on January 11.
