CAIRO – 21 October 2021: President's Consultant for Health Affairs Awad Tag el-Din stated in a phone-in Wednesday that 21 million citizens got 32 million doses of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine as a portion of them have not received the second dose yet.

Tag el-Din added that the fourth wave in Egypt has not ended yet, noting it is still not so bad, which has allowed schools to operate normally.

Egypt recorded Wednesday 877 COVID-19 infections, and 47 deaths as well as 780 recoveries at isolation hospitals.

As such, the total figures became 321,084 infections, 18,105 deaths, and 270,973 recoveries.

Egypt’s Health Ministry announced a few days ago that citizens would receive a booster anti-COVID-19 vaccine jab a year or more after receiving the original two doses.
