Al Azhar reiterates importance of ties with Libya

CAIRO - 16 October 2021: President of Al Azhar University Mohamed el Mehresawi stressed Wednesday the importance of relations with Libya, and its clerics and scholars.

This came during his meeting with a Libyan delegation of scholars and clerics who are taking part in a training workshop, held by the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates, under the rubric of “the role of Libyan clerics in protecting the social unity”.

Al Azhar president promised to offer full support to the Libyan scholars and clerics, and prayed to Allah to protect Libya and its people and help the country restore its stability.

For their side, the Libyan clerics thanked Egypt for efforts and support, and also expressed their gratitude to Al Azhar, under grand imam Ahmed el Tayyeb, for its efforts for serving Islam, Muslims, and humanity whole over the world.

At the end of the meeting, the university president distributed gifts to all of them, honoring the child who memorized the Noble Qur’an, awarding him a certificate of appreciation from the branch of the World Organization of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Libya branch.
