CAIRO – 26 August 2021: Nine countries, including Egypt, will participate in the Baghdad Summit due to convene on Saturday, August 28, Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nazim told Al-Sabaah newspaper on Thursday.
 
The Baghdad Cooperation and Partnership conference, which was called by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, will be attended by high-level political leaders and personalities from Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, the UAE, and France, in addition to representatives of the European Union and the United Nations, he added.
 
On August 19, 2021, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Kadhimi, discussing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the developments of a number of regional issues of mutual interest, particularly those in Afghanistan.
 
On June 27, 2021, President Sisi visited Baghdad to attend a tripartite summit with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
