CAIRO – 19 April 2021: Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem al-Gazar stated Monday that 92 percent of constructions in "Garden City" neighborhood in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) are over, and that the progress rate of finishing works is 18 percent.

"Garden City" is the fifth residential neighborhood in the New Capital and is named after Cairo's Garden City neighborhood built in the Khedevian era. It is executed by nine Egyptian construction firms.

The new neighborhood consists of 21,953 residential units, as it has 459 villas, and 385 buildings encompassing 21,494 flats. As for commercial units, their number is 513 in addition to facilities like educational, medical, administrative, and entertainment establishments.

The neighborhood spans over 885 feddans (one feddan is equal to 4,200 square meters) viewing the Central Park and its architectural design is a mix of baroque and more modern styles of French architecture.
