Sudanese Irrigation Minster Yasser Abbas said Sudan will not resume the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) negotiations with the same previous methodology.
The Ethiopian remarks show the country’s “desire to impose the fait accompli against the downstream countries, a matter that Egypt did not and will not accept”.
The Ethiopian proposal is merely an attempt to obtain an Egyptian approval of the second phase of dam filling, which Ethiopia plans to implement whether an agreement is reached or not.
