Rice Straw
Egyptian Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad stated that the ministry has held 600 seminars to educate farmers on using excess rice straw in an environment-friendly way instead of burning it.
The ministry had established 731 sites - located in six governorates - where the straw is piled up.
Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation issued its weekly report, citing that the country has collected and recycled 787,874 tons of rice straw.
The signing took place during the third day of the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2020).
The recurring phenomenon of “Black Clouds” has always been a headache for the government, which has been fighting for years the practice of burning agricultural leftovers.
A sum of 11,000 tons of rice straw were collected and transferred into organic fertilizers and fodders in Beheira and Dakahlia governorates in Egypt.
