Egypt’s Ministry of Health has announced the northern Egyptian governorate of Beheira free from coronavirus cases for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
EgyptAir said in a statement that Egypt Today could obtain that the new measures come as per the directives of the Health of Ministry and are concerned with visitors to the country who carry a COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
Children under the age of 6 are exempt from this decision, the company said, calling upon all clients to adhere to precautionary safety measures such as wearing a face mask.
The Egyptian national TV aired on Sunday a report about the health aid offered by Egypt to fellow African states.
“For residents and tourists, a PCR test is mandatory prior to departure for Dubai.
Egypt’s Health Minister Hala Zayed on Sunday affirmed that people willing to visit Egypt from abroad must show negative PCR results before they can enter the country, as Egypt has seen a low number of coronavirus cases compared to June.
The decision does not include Egyptians or foreigners arriving at some airports, the Government spokesman and the Civil Aviation Ministry said, as coronavirus cases in the northeastern African country have kept on declining.
As high school exams approach, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi ensured Thursday that students’ safety and health atop the government’s priorities as it fights coronavirus.
“When we reach a fixed number within several days, the numbers will start to decrease and we will know that we passed the peak of the crisis.”
This comes as some countries set a PCR test negative result as a condition for accepting the entry of travelers.
Minister of Health Hala Zayed said during the cabinet’s emergency meeting that an online website has been created “www.clab.mohp.gov.eg” for the travelers to register for their medical test to avoid big gatherings.
