Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir declared Sunday that 20 train engines supplied by Wabtec had arrived in the Port of Alexandria.
The value of the budget that has been allocated to the rehabilitation of the railway sector is LE200 billion.
That line will later be stretched to Sudan's Wadi Halfa city then the capital, Al Khartoum.
That batch consists of 10 units.
The train was supposed to be delivered by the Spanish company in March, but a delay is likely to occur.
President of Bombardier Inc. Danny Di Perna stated in a TV interview Sunday that he had met with Minister of Transportation Kamel al-Wazir.
ERA is also constructing Bashtil Station at LE4.7 billion.
Twenty General Electric train engines arrived in Alexandria Seaport on Tuesday.
The contracts were signed after a meeting with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi that took place last week.
