Domestic liquidity
According to CBE’s report, Egypt’s money supply, consisting of cash circulating outside the banking system and demand deposits in local currency, has risen to LE 2.097 trillion
The CBE’s monthly report revealed that the money supply recorded LE 1.330 trillion at the end of September 2021, compared to LE 1.307 trillion at the end of August, with an increase of about LE 22.9 billion.
CBE stated that the increase in domestic liquidity was reflected in the growth of quasi-money that went up by LE 356.9 billion at a rate of 12.1 percent.
On an annual basis, domestic liquidity increased by 14 percent, compared to LE 3.67 trillion in February 2019.
The increase in domestic liquidity reflected on near money “quasi-money” by about LE 220.4 billion , and on Money supply by about LE 20 billion.
