Upper Egypt acquired 37 percent of the new industrial projects, Deputy Head of Building Materials Chamber Kamal el-Desouki said Tuesday.
Seven of the industrial complexes will be located in Upper Egypt.
With a total value of $500 million in funding, the first phase of the program aims to develop six industrial zones.
The new project will serve the Belt and Road Initiative as a major international logistics service-provider.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday confirmed the necessity of continuing efforts for setting up new cities and upgrading industrial zones.
Sisi has called on Hungarian companies to invest in Egypt in the energy and industry sectors. Egypt is among the countries with the highest investment revenues.
