Locust Swarms
The Agriculture Ministry dismissed reports circulated on some websites and social media about the spread of locust swarms in Matrouh governorate.
A spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture denied any locust swarm attack on Egypt, saying the ministry only detected, through its centers nationwide, some individual cases.
A locust outbreak in Sudan and Eritrea is spreading rapidly along both sides of the Red Sea to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the U.N. FAO warned.
